Tim Sullivan PDF Print E-mail
2005
Written by Michael Davidson

Tim Sullivan began his career as a teenager pumping fake blood for the 80s cult horror flick Return of the Aliens: The Deadly Spawn (1983). This brought him to New York University where he studied film and wrote the music news for MTV. Upon graduation, Tim served in various capacities on 'Three Men And A Baby', 'Cocktail', 'Coming To America' and 'Godfather III' before co-producing the independent hits 'If Looks Could Kill' and 'America Exposed'. In 1990, Tim moved to LA where he worked in development at New Line Cinema for five years. It was there that he first encountered Detroit Rock City (1999), which he eventually co-produced, finding himself yet again pumping fake blood-though this time for Gene Simmons of the rock group KISS. Having formed New Rebellion Entertainment, Tim recently made his directorial debut with 2001 Maniacs (2005), a comedy-horror remake of the 1964 drive-in classic,  and was just tapped by horror legend Tobe Hooper to write  the  next feature film of his TH Nightmares series. Tim's insider's column on the horror genre, SHOCK AND ROLL, can be found regularly at UpcomingHorrorMovies.com.

For any horror fan the anticipation over a new Robert Englund feature is usually high - and when that movie also happens to be the remake of the Herschell Gordon Lewis classic, it is understandable why anticipation is at a fever pitch. Fearless Tales has the charismatic director of the upcoming "2001 Maniacs", Tim Sullivan, in attendance at San Francisco for a night honoring the original "Godfather of Gore" HG Lewis. Sullivan will present "2000 Maniacs" - the 1964 splatter classic and preview his new remake, alongside the film's stars Dylan Edrington and the gorgeous Christa Campbell - who plays a busty, seductive villain in the picture. All three will be on stage for a Q and A session with the audience.

Glidecam

Glidecam Industries, the manufacturer of camera stabilization systems and accessories, for use by both film and video makers, was founded by Martin Stevens in 1992. The actual origin of the first Glidecam device dates back to the Spring of 1991. Martin designed it when he was producing and directing his first feature length motion picture. Martin had become displeased with the current state of the art of camera stabilization systems and particularly the very high prices of these systems. He reasoned that if he could build a more affordable and capable camera stabilizer for his own production needs, using what he now refers to as "a common sense approach",then perhaps others would find need of the same.
