Fearless Tales Tickets

2005’s Fearless Tales Genre Fest runs for six days (29th March – 3rd April) and showcases a number of films playing in TWO different cinemas in San Francisco – the stunning Castro Theatre and the wonderfully historic Victoria.

As with any film festival, Fearless Tales prides itself on offering an alternative and from the 31st March through until the 2nd of April a line-up of different movies will play in each theatre… so if the movie playing at, for instance, The Victoria doesn’t take your fancy then maybe the one at The Castro will… and, of course, vice versa.

This is what makes The Fearless Tales All-Film Pass such a bargain. For the movie connoisseur there is an enormous number of new films, classic showings and events to catch your fancy – and for only $95, you gain entrance to as many as you want. Our Premium Pass, priced at $125, will give you access to the party honouring Fearless Vision Recipient John Landis on the evening of Thursday the 31st March. Expect many of the Festival’s other guests to also be socialising at this event, which promises to be a real stunner – especially with San Francisco’s premier burlesque troupe turning in a performance!

Individual tickets are only $10 per film.

The goal of Fearless Tales is to become a festival as essential as any other great event, and in only our second year we are proud to offer a special Q and A with a well known, and worthy, filmmaker every night until our closing movie.

On the 29th

On the 29th the festival kicks off at the Victoria with a Q and A with Matt Cimber, following screenings of the veterans cult films Hundra and The Witch Who Came From the Sea. If you are unfamiliar with Mr Cimber’s work then there has never been a better time to investigate!

On The 30th

The 30th bring us legendary European director Ulli Lommel, whose hits include The Boogeyman – and its sequel – as well as Brainwaves and The Tenderness of the Wolves. Mr Lommel has recently returned to the genre and Fearless Tales has nabbed the world premieres of his two latest movies – Zombie Nation and The Zodiac Killer, both showing at The Victoria. You can join Mr Lommel for an on stage Q and A and then join both the director and the Fearless Tales team at The Werepad afterwards for a party in celebration. Legendary horror movie actor David Hess, star of Wes Craven’s Last House on the Left and Swamp Thing, will also be in attendance.

On the 31st

On the 31st Fearless Tales will unveil a 35mm screening of 2000 Maniacs, followed by a preview of the forthcoming big budget remake 2001 Maniacs with director Tim Sullivan, and stars Crysta Campbell and Dylan Edrington in attendance to answer all your questions. Following this event, the “Maniacs” themselves will join 2005’s honoured director John Landis at the Fearless Vision Bash, which takes place at The Medjool. So why not come along?

On The 1st

The 1st of April brings us a double bill of John Landis pictures – 1991’s Innocent Blood and 1981’s An American Werewolf in London. The great man himself will take to the stage for a Q and A session afterwards, and if you want to be in the company of true cinematic greatness then waste no time in picking up a ticket to this unique event!

On the 2nd

On the 2nd of April with Jeff Burr, the man behind such popular sequels as Stepfather 2 and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3, honoring us with the Bay Area premiere of his World War 2-set shocker Straight into Darkness and his Vincent Price-starring debut The Offspring, one of the terror legend’s last films!

Of course, Fearless Tales is also about the best in independent cinema and there are so many gems on offer this year it is hard to know where to begin. From the dark comedy of Britain’s acclaimed Freak Out to the “did it really happen” documentary feel of The Collingswood Story (which rivals the terror of The Blair Witch Project!) and from The Curse of El Charro, which stars Andrew “Leatheface” Byniarski, to Ron Jeremy’s slasher picture Dead Meat. And there’s so much more than these to explore! These movies are all competing for the coveted Fearless Tales “Best Picture” Award, and you will have the chance to make your own minds up… let’s see if your choice is the same as the Fearless Team!

Non-competitive films unveiled in all their 35mm glory include the acclaimed low budget stalker film Malevolence, which is a marriage made in slasher film heaven for fans tiring of the watered down Halloween sequels or the redundant Hellraiser video movies and their ilk. British film Don’t Look Back also provides its share of serial killer shocks – whilst 2002’s My Little Eye gets a delayed US big screen showing. Just don’t watch it alone is all we’re saying!

All this and a number of classics such as The Candy Snatchers and Deep Red… let’s face it, can any self-respecting film buff afford to miss event?

See you at the movies!
